EL Contractor FAQ's

EL Contractor FAQ’s

  • Entertainment Linguistics’ reputation is built on our ability to refer the most qualified voice and linguistics professionals in the Entertainment industry.

An EL vetted contractor is a dialect coach, language teacher, script translator, interpreter, voice coach, singing coach, or cultural consultant for the film, television, new media and live entertainment industry who has successfully demonstrated to us their professional knowledge and skill through our very thorough vetting process.

  • Professional level dialect coaches, language teachers, voice coaches, singing coaches, and cultural consultants who wish to be independent contractor partners with Entertainment Linguistics LLC are invited to apply. Apprentice level contractors who can demonstrate substantial professional study and aptitude may also apply.

  • No. Entertainment Linguistics LLC’s dialect coaches, language teachers, voice coaches, singing coaches and cultural consultants are independent contractors.

  • Currently, the application process is without charge.

  • Yes. If you do not succeed during the vetting process, we will give you a list of the skills you need to hone. Once you have gained these skills, we invite you to apply again.

  • Not at all! EL contractors are not management clients. In fact, we love working with our contractors’ managers and agents.

  • We earn revenue in several ways:

    1) We are paid by the production companies who hire us directly.

    2) We earn commission on the on-demand products we host and promote for our fully vetted accent/dialect coaches and voice professionals.

  • Once you are fully vetted, you are eligible to be recommended to work on the productions we are contracted with. Typically productions pay us directly, and you are in turn paid by us as a contractor at the amount we have agreed upon.

Certain productions may have different requirements which may affect this process from time to time, in which case the production would pay Entertainment Linguistics LLC and you as separate entities.

  • You’ll find links to the applications we are currently accepting on our contractor onboarding page.

Be sure to have your professional resume and references ready when you start. The application will take 30-45 minutes to complete.
