About Robert

Robert Easton (born Robert Easton Burke, November 23, 1930 – December 16, 2011) was a well-respected American dialect coach who was lovingly referred to by many as ‘The Henry Higgins of Hollywood.’ During his lifetime he amassed one of the largest collection of books, documents and recordings (over 100,000 items) of accented English in the world. Sadly, after his death, this collection was sold piecemeal rather than preserved as a resource for the motion picture industry.

Highlights

At the age of 14, he toured the country with the popular Radio show ‘Quiz Kids.’

Studied phonetics at University College

Was the accent coach for many well-known actors such as Gregory Peck, Laurence Olivier, Ben Kingsley, Al Pacino, Liam Neeson, Robert Duvall and Forest Whitaker.
